Recent History
In the last four years, I have walked the Camino de Santiago – a 500 mile walk across northern Spain – twice. Done an eight-week road trip around the U. S., resulting in a decision to relocate to Portland, OR. Most recently, I completed a 200 mile Coast 2 Coast walk across England. “How you live your days is how you live your life.” Old History
In my early years, I learned the rudiments and nuances of the affective therapies: gestalt therapy, transactional, analysis, and body therapies. Later, my focus turned to the power of the system: family and marital – and their shaping influence. Finally, my formal training taught me to deeply respect the unconscious drives and motivations that subtly inform living and choices through the understandings inherent in psychoanalytic theory, particularly object relations and ego psychology. In my fourth, and current, cycle of learning, I have been engaged in understanding the power of addictions, the correlating power of spiritual life and practice, and the shaping power of relational competence.
